Carl Vorlau, a mysterious patient at a private psychiatric clinic, claims to have abducted seven-year-old Pia months ago and taken her to a secret location. Vorlau only wants to talk about his crime with one person – the literary agent David Dolla, who is as humorous as he is unconventionally working. Vorlau makes a diabolical offer to him: The agent is to secure him a publisher advance of one million euros for a thriller titled „I Kill What You Don't See.“ A confession in the form of a true-crime novel about the fate of little Pia!
As a reward, Vorlau promises to make Dolla a hero who saves the girl from certain death at the last second. However, should Dolla refuse the mission, Vorlau intends not only to let Pia die but also to destroy the agent's life forever...
